At River City Life, we believe that God has called us to go. There have been many words spoken over the church that we are to be an apostolic and resourcing centre, and this is our heart before God.
We are currently awaiting the Lord to open a door for more space in terms of buildings. This will give us the space to equip the believers, reach out to the lost and bless other churches where ever they may be. It is envisioned that this will be a hub of a wheel, not a ‘church building’ that is an idol or lays dorment. We believe that the Spirit of God is moving and it’s time to get prepared. We are called to be a blessing and we desire to walk in this.
To be ‘apostolic’ the focus is on raising up and sending out the people of God with a Kingdom mentality, rather than staying and maintaining, trying to build the local church which can be man’s kingdom. It’s not about us, not at all – it’s all about JESUS, His Kingdom, His glory and His will. We desire to see every individual, and the church collectively know Christ intimately and who they are in Him – or more to the point, who Christ is in them!
Equipping Centre
We have started our monthly Equipping Workshops that are open to all believers. These workshops and events will increase over time.
In 2010 we are planning our FOCUS conference, once again open to all, with an emphasis on bringing the ministry of the Spirit into lives of both individuals and the city of Launceston. Visit here for all the details.
River City Life is called to be a resource centre, and a major part of this is playing our part in the equipping of the saints in the City of Launceston & beyond. We will see many gifted people come in and impart what the Lord has given them to the Body. Our desire is to see that what is imparted goes beyond more information to transformation as people are mobilised to walk in it. After all, the Word says in James ‘Do not merely listen to the Word; do what it says’. It’s time for the priesthood of all believers to rise and walk and we believe that this is our part in what God is doing in these last days.
