The children & youth here at RCL are an integral part of our fellowship, we want to see them grow in the Lord and minister in the Spirit.
Children’s Ministry
River City Life runs a Children’s ministry which is determined to teach the ways of God to our children, and help them to live as passionate and wholehearted worshippers of the Lord. We do not see this as a ‘baby sitting’ club, but rather a partnership with parents who are encouraged to disciple their children in the home. We do not want to see our children as a separate identity, but as part of the family, the Body of Christ, and thus they are encouraged to participate in our corporate gatherings in worship, prayer and sharing. We want them to be valued and to see them raised as dynamic followers of Christ.
The key word for us from the Lord is ‘integration’. We want to see the children integrated into the church family, not separate, and it’s our desire to see families worshipping and serving together!
Our Children’s ministry is aimed at children from the ages of 4 – 12. This ministry helps the children to learn about:
- the teachings of Jesus Christ, and to live a life of love, hope, and freedom, and to help them consider others before self
- God the Father, and His heart and attributes as we encourage relationships to be built through Jesus Christ in prayer, praise and worship
- the Holy Spirit, allowing opportunity for children to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and learn to know the Spirit’s prompting, direction, courage, healing and words of prophecy etc.
- the Bible, through stories of strength, trials and encouragement which are found in the Bible
May the Lord bless you and encourage you as you raise the children that God has blessed you with.
Youth Ministry
River City Life’s desire is to run a Youth ministry which equips and empowers the young people to walk in the grace of God upon their lives. Most youth ministries focus on games and fun times, and whilst we acknowledge the need for this, we desire to see youth on fire for Jesus.
We want them to know and walk intimately with their Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ daily. We also want them to experience fellowship with one another where in the words of Scripture they can “stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24-25) We desire for this generation to go forward taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth.
Check back shortly for more details as we begin to walk in this.
